Surf lessons · Torquay, VIC
Learn to surf on the Surf Coast with small groups, soft boards and a crew who picks the friendliest break every morning.
Pick a day or drag the swell dial. The waves change height and rhythm, and we'll suggest the lesson that suits. These aren't real conditions — always check official forecasts and warnings before you paddle out.

Surf safe
We run through this on the sand before every first lesson. Here's the short version.
That's the patrolled area where lifeguards are watching. Our lessons set up inside it or right beside it.
Look for darker, deeper-looking water with fewer breaking waves, a rippled surface, or foam and sand drifting out to sea.
Raise an arm and call for help. You may be able to escape by swimming parallel to the beach, towards the breaking waves.
Never surf alone, check the conditions and warnings first, and ask a lifeguard if you're unsure.
General information only. Conditions change quickly — always follow lifeguards' directions and official warnings. In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000).
The crew
A small crew who'd rather be in the water than anywhere else — and who read the conditions before you get out of bed.
Head coach
Reads the Surf Coast like a bus timetable. Rides a 9'0 log on small days.
Kids' coach
Has a whistle, a joke for every wipeout and endless patience.
Private lessons
A former pool swimmer who is fussy about pop-ups, in the best way.
Surf camp lead
Runs the beach games, rock-pool walks and the post-surf hot chocolate.
Book
Choose a lesson, a day and a morning or arvo session. We text the meeting spot the evening before, once we've picked the break for the conditions.
