A catalogue of living specimens
Plants chosen for the light you actually have.
We’re a small nursery in West End growing indoor foliage, Australian natives and kitchen herbs for Brisbane homes. Every plant on our benches is drawn here as a specimen plate — tell the key about your room and the plates that suit it stay in colour.

Indoor
Plates II–VIIFoliage for units, offices and Queenslanders with deep verandahs — from dim-corner stalwarts to one diva that wants a bright window.
Australian natives
Plates VIII–XIIGrown in our shade house from local stock. Potted in a low-phosphorus native mix we blend on site.
- Field noteKangaroo paw and grevillea flowers bring honeyeaters and native bees to a balcony — even six floors up.
Edibles & herbs
Plates XIII–XVIIKitchen herbs, a couple of bush foods and a chilli that earns its pot. Seedlings restocked every Wednesday.
- Field noteA January afternoon on a west-facing Brisbane balcony cooks most herbs. Morning sun and a deep pot beat any fertiliser.
Sample prices for 140–200 mm pots; staghorn price includes its hardwood mount.

Get your hands in the mix
Small groups of eight at the long bench out the back. Everything is supplied, there’s tea on, and you take home whatever you make.
Terrarium building
Moss, fittonia and a lidded jar you keep. We cover drainage layers, charcoal and how not to drown it.
Kokedama & string gardens
Wrap a fern or pothos in a moss ball, bind it with twine and learn the soak-and-drip watering routine.
Balcony natives for bees & birds
Choosing pots, mix and plants for a wind-blown balcony, plus a take-home trough of three natives.
Propagation morning
Cuttings, division and water-rooting. Bring a jar from home; leave with six little plants started.

Questions at the counter
Is this plant safe for my cat or dog?
Each plate shows a paw symbol when the plant is commonly listed as non-toxic to cats and dogs. Lists vary and animals react differently, so treat it as general information and check with your vet — especially for chewers.
My flat gets almost no sun. Anything?
Set the key to “Low” light. Zanzibar gem, parlour palm, peace lily and bird’s nest fern all cope with a dim room, as long as you water less.
Do you sell pots and potting mix?
Yes — glazed and terracotta pots from 100 mm to 400 mm, plus our own indoor, native and herb mixes by the bag or the scoop.
Can I bring in a plant that’s struggling?
Please do. Saturday-morning plant clinic is free; if it needs repotting we’ll quote first.
