Custom design

From sketch to bench

Most custom rings take six to eight weeks from first conversation to collection. Nothing is made until you've approved the drawing and the written quote.

  1. Consult

45 minutes · studio or video

We talk about how you'll wear it, try sample bands for width and look at loose stones in daylight.

  2. Sketch & quote

    Usually within 10 working days

Hand sketches and a to-scale drawing with a written quote. Changes are welcome here — it's the cheapest place to make them.

  3. Make

    Around 4–6 weeks

Your ring is carved or hand-fabricated, cast, set and polished at the bench, with a progress photo along the way.

  4. Collect & care

    At the studio

We check the fit together and show you how to care for it. A clean and claw check is on us for the first year.

Care guide

Wear it often, look after it well

Handmade jewellery is made to be worn. A little care keeps claws tight, metal bright and opals happy — and any piece we've made can come back for a clean.

Opal
  • Opal is softer than sapphire or diamond — take it off for gardening, the gym and the dishes.
  • Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. No ultrasonic or steam cleaners, and never soak doublets or triplets.
  • Store it on its own in the pouch so harder stones can't scratch it.
Gold — yellow, rose & white
  • Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush; rinse and pat dry.
  • White gold is usually rhodium-plated and may need re-plating every year or two with daily wear.
Sterling silver
  • Silver darkens with air and skin oils — wearing it often actually helps.
  • Keep it in the zip pouch and use a silver polishing cloth. Avoid chlorinated pools and spas.
Sapphire, morganite & diamond
  • Hard-wearing for every day, but claws can loosen with knocks — book a claw check once a year.
  • Faceted stones collect hand cream and sunscreen; a gentle soapy clean brings the sparkle back.
Everyday habits
  • Put jewellery on last, after sunscreen, perfume and hairspray.
  • Take rings off for weights, swimming and cleaning products.

Ring sizing guide

Find your ring size

  1. Cut a thin strip of paper about 10 cm long.
  2. Wrap it around the base of your finger — snug, but able to slide over the knuckle.
  3. Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres.

Measure at the end of the day when your hands are warm. Between sizes, choose the larger. For bands 3 mm and wider, consider half a size up. Australian ring sizes use letters, the same system as the UK — we'll confirm with sizing rings at your appointment.
