Getting here

Falls Creek sits on the edge of the Bogong High Plains in Victoria's north-east. The last stretch from Mount Beauty climbs about 30 km of bends — take it slow and enjoy the view.

Route diagram: roads from Melbourne (about 4 hours) and Albury–Wodonga (about 1 hour 10 minutes) meet at Mount Beauty, then about 40 minutes of mountain bends climb to Falls Creek. Carry chains when required. ALBURY–WODONGAMELBOURNEMOUNT BEAUTYFALLS CREEK ≈ 1 hr 10 min≈ 4 hrs≈ 40 min up Carry chainswhen required
  • Chains when required

Carry snow chains in winter and fit them in the marked bays when the signs say so. Hire places in the valley can show you how.

  • Over-snow to the door

In winter the lodge is reached over snow. Park in the village car park and book the over-snow taxi — it drops you at our boot room.

  • Resort entry

Alpine resort entry fees apply to vehicles in the snow season. Sort yours out before you drive up.

  • Coaches & shuttles

Seasonal coaches run from Melbourne and Albury. We're a short walk from the village drop-off.

General information only — conditions change quickly in the mountains. Check the official alpine road and weather reports before you leave.

Room

Good to know

Do I need to bring linen?

Private rooms come made up. In the Bunkhouse, hire linen for $20 a stay or bring a sleeping bag and pillowcase.

Can you cater for allergies?

Tell us when you book. Fondue night has a dairy-free pot and gluten-free bread on request.

Is there ski hire at the lodge?

No hire on site, but the village hire shops are a short walk (or slide) away, and your gear sleeps in our heated lockers.

What if the lifts are on hold?

Mountains are mountains. The fire's lit, the board games are out and the soup's on at 12:30.
